The great David Ogilvy, reminds us to educate then sell.
When I write for brands and businesses today I often find myself following Ogilvy’s approach to copywriting… educate then sell.
While Ogilvy didn’t know it at the time, he in many ways invented what we know today as “content marketing”. He would educate and entertain the consumer before selling to them.
If your consumers start reading your ads simply because they find them interesting, you’re going to do okay in this game.
Maybe it's time to start Doing it Differently!?
