I’m a stickler for focus.
Because without it you get lost, overwhelmed with too much to do and your marketing plan just becomes a list of things to do.
Sounds familar?
My principle of focus means you have to limit the tactical ideas to those that best match your brand’s limited resources.
This tool here allows you to assess your return on effort (ROE) for possible marketing activities. I call it the “Big Easy” and you will see why.
Get creative and take each tactical idea your team have and put it on a Post -It note.
Then plot the ideas onto the grid at to whether the idea will have a big impact versus small impact on your business results, and whether the idea will be easy to execute versus difficult to execute.
The top ideas rise to the big easy quadrant in the top right corner.
The goal of this tool is to narrow down your focus to the best three activities ( I like the power of 3’s – another story!) for each plan / strategy while eliminating those ideas that will just drain you.
And while you may not always have access to some data, your gut instinct will help you to assess ROE.
And this gives you better focus and more time to do what matters to you.
Look, getting out of your comfort zone is sometimes hard unless it's exciting; but whatever size business you are in, I’m your Strategist, Copywriter, Marketer and all round Brand LEDGE on tap.
This is Marketing from a real Marketer who knows his stuff.
